Briefly about my clinical psychology practice

Since I finished my training in 2013, I’ve worked with people from all backgrounds, who have experienced all kinds of struggles. I know that the prospect of talking to a stranger about personal things can be very confronting – which is why in every session, I’ll strive to make sure you feel comfortable and in control of the therapy journey.

I primarily use Solution Focused Therapy, which works from the assumption that having a clear sense of where you want to get to – how you want your life to be different – is crucial for therapy to be successful. So rather than only focusing on the problem, a key part of the conversation is on your desired future, and how to get there.

My goal, style and approach in session

I use a strengths-based approach, which means that I see the whole person, not just a diagnosis or a collection of problems. I recognise that everyone has capabilities and strengths, even when the person themselves struggles to see those things. I believe that everyone has the right to choose their own path through life, and that hopefulness and believing in your own capability are key to good wellbeing, and to successful therapy. This is the perspective that I’ll bring to our work together.
